Google Business Profile setup
in the order that passes.

Most listings are created in the wrong order — name and address entered first, category picked from a dropdown that sounded right, everything else left blank. That sequence is what produces rejections and profiles that never rank. The preparation costs an hour and it is the entire difference between a listing live this week and one still arguing with a reviewer next month.

Free first

Send a business name and city. You get a geo-grid scan and a written finding on what is actually wrong — before any quote, and whether or not you go ahead.

01This page is for you if

You are opening in the next sixty days and have not started

You created a profile and it was rejected

The listing is verified but empty — no services, no products, four photos

You are not sure whether you should be a storefront or a service-area business

Somebody set it up years ago and nobody has touched it since

02What we actually do

Every item here is something within our control. The things that are not are listed further down, in their own section, rather than left out.

The preparation that decides the outcome

One canonical business name matching your signage. One canonical address format matching your utility bill. The primary category researched against the current map pack rather than chosen from a list. Ten photographs, hours, a 750-character description and your service list, prepared before the form is opened.

Storefront or service-area, decided correctly

If customers visit you, the address is public and proximity works for you. If you travel to them, the address is hidden and service areas are defined. If both, you are a hybrid and keep the address public. Getting this wrong is a common eligibility failure, and it is not obvious from the interface.

Claimed rather than duplicated

Older businesses usually have an unclaimed listing already generated from directory data. We search first and claim it, because creating a second listing at the same address produces a duplicate that is harder to clear than whatever prompted it.

The hour after verification that nobody spends

Secondary categories, services and products with real descriptions, attributes, holiday hours, seeded Q&A, and photographs named descriptively before upload. A verified empty profile ranks below a complete one, and this is the cheapest ranking work that exists.

A review engine, installed

Counter QR, WhatsApp template, invoice link, and a short session with the staff who will actually use them. Steady arrival beats a large stale count, and steady arrival is a mechanism, not a reminder.

Handover so you can run it

Ownership in your Google account, a walkthrough of what to post and how often, and a written note of what not to do — starting with never adding keywords to the business name.

03How it runs
  1. Day 1

    Preparation

Name, address format, category research, service-area decision, and the asset pack assembled. Nothing is created until this is settled.

  2. Day 1

    Create or claim, then submit

Existing listing claimed where one exists, otherwise created with the researched fields, then submitted for verification the same day.

  3. Minutes to 14 days

    Verification

Whichever method Google offers, prepared for and handled.

  4. Week 1

    Completion and handover

Every remaining field populated, review system installed, walkthrough delivered, ownership confirmed in your account.

04What we will not claim

This section costs us work and we would rather lose it here than on a call three weeks in.

  • We do not list virtual offices, coworking desks or mailbox addresses — they are ineligible and lead to suspension
  • We do not add your city or services to the business name, however much it appears to help
  • We do not create a second listing to work around a lost login — we recover the first
  • Ranking accumulates over months; verification is a start, not a result
06Questions

Asked on almost every call

Including the ones where the honest answer is the less impressive one.

  • Before opening, not after. Google weighs how long a profile has existed, verification takes days to weeks, and customers search a new business by name in the week they first hear about it — if nothing comes up they assume it is not open yet. Starting while the interiors are still being done means you are findable on day one.

  • No. Businesses that travel to customers register as service-area businesses, hide the address and define service areas instead. What is not permitted is listing a virtual office, coworking desk or mailbox as premises, which is a frequent cause of suspension.
  • Yes. Multi-location businesses need one profile per location with a consistent naming convention, correct store codes, and a location group structure that does not put every listing at risk if one has a problem. Getting the account structure right matters more than it sounds, because suspensions can cascade across an account.
  • It varies with whether we are creating from scratch, claiming an existing listing, or resolving a duplicate first, so we quote after looking rather than before. The initial audit is free.
