Google Business Profile optimisation
measured, not asserted.
Almost every local business has a profile. Very few rank. The gap is rarely the listing itself: it is a primary category that entered the wrong race, a phone number that differs across four directories, a review pile that stopped growing eighteen months ago, and half the fields left empty. Those are all fixable, and the fix is measurable — which is why the first thing we produce is a baseline, not a proposal.
Send a business name and city. You get a geo-grid scan and a written finding on what is actually wrong — before any quote, and whether or not you go ahead.
You are verified but never appear in the map pack
You rank for your own name and nothing else
A newer competitor with fewer reviews outranks you
You have no idea whether last month's work moved anything
An agency showed you a screenshot of position one and you are not sure what it proved
Every item here is something within our control. The things that are not are listed further down, in their own section, rather than left out.
Geo-grid baseline before anything changes
A single screenshot proves nothing, because Maps results are personalised by the searcher's distance from you — you can be first outside your shop and invisible three kilometres away. We measure your rank for each target keyword across a grid of coordinates around your premises, so there is a real picture of how far your visibility reaches and a number to compare against later.
Category engineering
The primary category determines which queries you are eligible for at all, so no volume of reviews compensates for the wrong one. We read the categories of the profiles currently holding your target pack — those are the ones Google has already associated with that query — and then widen the surface with secondary categories without diluting the primary signal.
Citation and NAP cleanup
Name, address and phone made byte-identical across your website, your structured data, and the Indian directories that carry weight. The usual culprit is an old number on a listing nobody has logged into since 2019. Conflicting data actively suppresses confidence in the profile rather than merely failing to help.
Completeness as a ranking surface
Services and products individually described, attributes filled, holiday hours set, the description rewritten around real search language, photographs added monthly rather than once, and Q&A seeded with the questions you genuinely field on the phone. Each populated field is another query surface.
Review velocity as a system
A profile with 300 reviews and none in eight months performs worse than one with 60 arriving steadily. We install the asking mechanism — counter QR, WhatsApp template, invoice link — and write responses to every review, because response rate is itself a signal and the replies are indexable text attached to your profile.
The website side, in agreement
LocalBusiness and Service structured data on your site mirroring the profile exactly, plus the technical fixes that stop a slow site undermining the listing it is supposed to support. A profile and a website that disagree about the basic facts are a weaker pair than either alone.
- Week 1
Baseline
Geo-grid scan across your target keywords, full profile audit, citation audit, and identification of the competitors actually holding your pack.
- Week 1–2
Foundation fixes
Categories, attributes, services, products, description, hours and the citation correction pass. Most measurable movement originates here.
- Week 3
Content and reviews
Photographs, posts, Q&A seeding, structured data on the website, and the review system handed to your staff.
- Monthly
Compound and report
Ongoing posting, review responses, and a monthly geo-grid re-scan against the original baseline.
This section costs us work and we would rather lose it here than on a call three weeks in.
- No ranking position is guaranteed, because personalisation by searcher distance means no single position exists to promise
- Movement usually shows in 30–60 days; competitive urban categories need three to six months of sustained work
- We do not buy reviews or backlinks — both are the fastest routes to losing the asset they were meant to grow
- Proximity is a heavy ranking factor and cannot be changed, which bounds what any optimisation can achieve from one address
Asked on almost every call
Including the ones where the honest answer is the less impressive one.
Foundation fixes usually show measurable movement in thirty to sixty days. Competitive urban categories take three to six months of sustained review velocity and content. Anyone quoting a fixed date is guessing, which is why we report against a geo-grid baseline instead of against a promise.
- No, and nobody honestly can. Maps rankings are personalised by how far the searcher is standing from your premises, so there is no single position one to hold — you might be first for someone outside your shop and invisible to someone three kilometres away. What we guarantee is a measured baseline and a monthly re-scan showing exactly what moved.
- It checks your rank for a keyword across a grid of coordinates around your business rather than from one location. A 7×7 grid gives 49 data points and an actual map of how far your visibility reaches. It matters because a single screenshot of position one proves only that someone was standing in the right place when they took it.
- Never. Bought and incentivised reviews are the fastest known route to a suspended profile, the pattern is visible to anyone who looks, and any competitor can report it. We install the mechanism that produces genuine reviews steadily instead, which is slower to start and does not put the asset at risk.
